Mount Rainier became a National Park on March 2, 1899. Lots of people were interested in climbing the 14,100 foot peak of Mount Rainier. Mount Rainier is a activie volcanic moutain that has flowered medows, and healing hot springs that a man named Longmire found while he was making his long jounry up the 14,100 foot peak in1883. Finally in 1899 the goverment side aside this land and Mount Rainier became a National Park.
